The updates were rejected because the tip of your current branch is behind error can be fixed by pushing to a remote branch. This process is called a Git push, and it debugs the errors of the current branch, which is also known as a local branch.
If you do a commit in one project and then accidentally push this commit, with bypassing code review, to another project, this will fail with the error message 'non-fast forward'. To fix the problem you should check the push specification and verify that you are pushing the commit to the correct project.
The "pull" command is used to download and integrate remote changes. The target (which branch the data should be integrated into) is always the currently checked out HEAD branch. By default, pull uses a merge operation, but it can also be configured to use rebase instead.
You need to merge the remote branch into your current branch by running git pull.
If your local branch is already up-to-date, you may also need to run git pull --rebase.
