Because we have discovered and fixed a bug in our app after we uploaded the application to iTunes Connect, we now need to remove the one that has been posted for review and upload the newer version we just built.
Is it possible to do this? There doesn't seem to be any button or link in iTunes Connect to allow us to do this.

'Remove this version from review' will take some minutes to appear. I had to do it with my mobile AppStoreConnect app -> select app->select version which is waiting for review, tap on the red hand saying "reject from review"(appeared 10 mins after I submitted it). Thats it.
Tap on “Ratings and Reviews” to continue. Here, you'll be able to see all the apps that you've rated and reviewed to date. Swipe left on the app that you want to remove the rating for. Now, simply tap on “Remove” as shown in the screenshot below and you're good to go.
Review status On average, 90% of submissions are reviewed in less than 24 hours. You'll be notified by email of status changes. You can also check the review status of your submission in the My Apps section of App Store Connect or on the App Store Connect app for iPhone and iPad.
Typically, three days is the standard time for a mobile app to be reviewed and approved on Google Play Store.

In iTunes connect, from 'My apps', select
- Click your application, then
- Make sure you are on the 'Versions' tab, and that the correct version is selected.
- Click 'Remove this version from review' located in the info bubble...

This is an old post, but also happened to me. What I did is wait for almost an hour, then change one screenshot, then pressed save. After that the "to submit a build, you must remove this version from review" button appeared.
