Will Metal work on non A7 devices? (for example iPhone 5 or iPad Mini (not retina)). If not, is any way to create application for Metal supported devices only?

Handling. Handle iPad with care. It is made of metal, glass, and plastic and has sensitive electronic components inside. iPad or its battery can be damaged if dropped, burned, punctured, or crushed, or if it comes in contact with liquid.
Try a different port, cable, or computer The issue could be related to your computer, its USB port, or the USB cable connecting it to your device. If possible, try a different computer, USB port, or USB cable.
If iTunes is not recognizing or connecting to your iPhone, there are some simple fixes you can try to get connected. Make sure iTunes is up to date, your phone is unlocked, and you're allowed the iPhone to trust your computer. You should also restart the computer and iPhone and make sure the USB cable is not damaged.
It is for A7 or greater. The WWDC videos say "Designed for A7" and they kept emphasizing that throughout the presentations.
