After running TreeSize Free, I found that Visual Studio is gobbling up disk space in C:\Users\{Me}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio folder... specifically in the WebTools\ChromeUserDataXXX\Default\Extensions.
Does anybody know what these are for, why they're so big (>11gb) and if I can safely remove them or change some settings so not so much is stored?

The AppData folder becomes larger with each new app you install. The more programs and games on your computer, the larger the size of the AppData folder. Windows itself doesn't control the size of this folder, which means its growth is totally uncontrolled and is not limited.
The AppData folder is located at C:\users\YOURNAME, where YOURNAME is your Windows profile ID. Don't move or delete files from the AppData folder; doing so will corrupt the linked program.
Double-click AppData in the 1 and 2 directories and change the path to the folder directory you want to transfer in the pop-up box. Then copy all the data in the original AppData directory to whichever directory you modified, and finally restart your computer.
Users cannot move this folder the way they can move an app installation because apps are hardwired to look for it in its default location. If you need to move AppData, you will have to use a junction or a symbolic link.
Something wrong is with the Screencastify extension (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/screencastify-screen-vide/mmeijimgabbpbgpdklnllpncmdofkcpn) in WebTools. If you do not need WebTools, remove it manually or using VS installer.
