I accidentally opened a very, very large file (well not accidentally, but I didn't think it would crash Notepad++). Now whenever I try to open Notepad++, the program crashes, so I can't just turn off the setting. I also don't have admin privileges.
At the top-left of your File Explorer window, click "File," and then click "Change folder and search options." 3. Under "Privacy" in the General tab of the pop-up window that appears, click the "Clear" button to immediately clear all your Recent Files, then click "OK."
If you have the "Group similar task bar buttons" option (Start > Properties > Taskbar) checked, then you should be able to right click on the Notepad group in the taskbar and close all instances of the application.
