Similar to this and this questions. Is there a place - official or unofficial - to learn about further developments for F# (apart from waiting for the next PDC)?
I am particularly interested about the reserved keywords atomic
, component
, mixin
, pure
, trait
, if there are plans of adding something like Phil Bagwell's persistent data structures (as seen in Clojure or Scala) and of course in what time frame we can start playing with Type Providers
?
If there is no such resource, is this due to F# being developed 'behind closed' doors, or simply due to time constraints of the people working on F#?
I think Type Provider
will be available in the coming months. otherwise, the f# team will not have enough things to show in the next PDC, which is quite near as this year pdc is in September.
F# team must have done a lot of great prototypes. But MS is always cautious about releases, even beta versions. Only after enough internal test and user feedback (MS has so many workers..), the new feature can be released to the public.
