I'd like to disable the Comment box that pops up when a user clicks the Facebook (fbml) Like button I've placed on my site. Is this possible to do? I can't find any details in the documentation.
Updated mobile browser experience. Tap in the top right of Facebook, then tap Groups and select your group. Go to the post you want to turn off comments for. Tap and then tap Turn off Commenting.
Locate the offending comment and long-press it. From the menu that appears, choose Delete or Hide comment. For deletions, confirm that you'd like to remove the comment by selecting Delete once more. The Hide comment option is instant and requires no confirmation.
To turn off comments on all public Facebook posts by default, go to your account settings–>Privacy–>Public Posts. Or click here to be taken directly there. Scroll down till you see Public post comments–>Who can comment on your public posts? Drop down the small menu box and select Friends.
Simplest fix to hide the comment box after Facebook Like (XFBML version not the iframe one) is as given:
.fb_edge_widget_with_comment span.fb_edge_comment_widget iframe.fb_ltr { display: none !important; }
Put the CSS style in any of your CSS file and see the magic, it works :)
