Within the iOS Simulator, is it possible to access the App Store?
That is, can I install the App Store application within the Simulator and download applications through it to the iOS Simulator? If so, how?
Install Apps on Simulators To install an app on a connected simulator, follow these steps. Go to Apps > Install Application. Find and open the app you want to install from your Mac. The app appears in the list of installed apps on the right side of the iOS Gateway window.
I am a software quality assurance (SQA) tester and like to test and do experiments. I want to run in a virtual machine (VM) to try various iOS apps and configurations without messing up my iOS devices. I noticed iOS simulator does not come with an App Store.
The iOS Simulator does not have an App Store. There are many iOS Apps available in the macOS App Store on Apple Silicon Macs.
No, according to Apple here: Note: You cannot install apps from the App Store in simulation environments.
It's a simulator not an emulator. Even if there was an App Store in the Simulator, none of the apps in the store would work since they are compiled for ARM CPUs while the Simulator runs x86 code.
