Is it possible to open a project in Visual Studio 2008 without opening all the files that were previously opened last time I had the project open. I have a habit of keeping many files open as I am working on them, so next time I open the project, it (very slowly) loads up a bunch of files into the editor that I may not even need open. I have searched through the settings and cannot find anything to stop this behavior.
In Visual Studio, click File > Open > Folder. Navigate to the folder, and click Select Folder. This opens the folder in Solution Explorer and displays its contents, files and any subfolders.
Getting Started After installing, select [View] -> [Other Windows] -> [Working Files List] on the menu bar within Visual Studio. Any open documents should be listed in the tool window. Left-clicking on an item in the list activates the tab for that document.
Quick file navigation# VS Code provides two powerful commands to navigate in and across files with easy-to-use key bindings. Hold Ctrl and press Tab to view a list of all files open in an editor group. To open one of these files, use Tab again to pick the file you want to navigate to, then release Ctrl to open it.
Launch VS Code and press the “Ctrl” and “P” keys simultaneously to search for a file to open in the current project. Type in the file name. To open the new file in a temporary tab, click on it once. To open the new file in a separate window that you can choose to close manually, double-click it.
Simply delete the .suo file. It contains the list of open files.
