Is it currently possible to test a UWP application on my own XBOX (not publish, just test on my own personal XBOX One console)?
Based on MS's faq: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/developers/ID...
"For developers working on Universal Windows Apps, you’ll be able to test your games on a retail Xbox One sometime after the second half of 2015"
However I can not find any good details explaining the process for testing/sideloading applications on an XBOX One. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Get started building apps for the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) on Xbox One. UWP on Xbox One supports developing both apps and games. You don't have to be part of a developer program to experiment, create, and test games or apps on Xbox. All you need is a developer account in Partner Center.
The Xbox One, in fact, already runs Windows 10. However, the version of Windows 10 on the Xbox One is a highly customized version of Windows 10 specific to the Xbox One console.
The Xbox app for Windows is where you can go to play and manage PC gaming content on your Windows device. Whether you're an Xbox Game Pass or a PC Game Pass member, or you've bought titles from the Microsoft Store, your games await in the app.
You can now
Good news, you are ready to go today. Here are a number of links to get you started and sideloading:
and finally, a video on how to do this.
