Emacs usualy automaticaly splits the window horizontaly.
How can I change this default behaviour, so that the window is splited verticaly by default?
Split screen in half The most fundamental way to use split screen in Windows 10 is to drag an open window to the left or right side of the screen. This will automatically 'snap' that window to take up exactly half of the screen.
To split the window vertically, simply click on an open file tab, and drag it into the editor. As you drag the tab down toward the editor, you should see the cursor change to include a "page" on the mouse arrow. When you release the mouse, you'll see the window has been split vertically.
You can press “Ctrl+w+w” to go to next split, keep pressing “w” if you have multiple splits and want to go to the correct one. You can also use the arrow key with “Ctrl+w+<direction of the split>”, this method is better if you have both vertical and horizontal splits at the same time. What is 'normal mode' in Vim?
