Anybody can recommend a free version of Visual Xml/Xsd editor?
I don't expect to be as good as Altova Xml Spy, but ideally it can provide similar or something close.

If you are on the Start View, click the XML Schema Explorer link. If you are on the Graph View or the Content Model View and have nodes in your workspace, use the context (right-click) menu to select the XML Schema Explorer. You can also select the XML Schema Explorer from the View menu.
The file can also open with Microsoft Visual Studio, XML Notepad, EditiX XML Editor, Progress Stylus Studio, and XMLSpy. Oxygen XML Editor is one of a few XSD openers that works on Linux, Mac, and Windows. You can use a text editor, too, given that it's just a text file.
To edit a fileSelect the Use XML editor to view and edit the underlying XML Schema file link on the Start View. The XML editor appears with the new file open. Copy the XML Schema sample code from Purchase order schema and paste it to replace the code that was added to the new XSD file by default.
Go to the Excel file and click on the developer tab, then go to source. This will add a panel to the right, which will allow you to add your XSD by clicking on “XML Maps” at the bottom right. The XML Maps window will open. Click on “Add” and add your XSD.
xmlfox is a good free editor that supports XSD. I however like Oxygen XML Editor. It is very cheap for the functionality it provides.
EditiX supports visual editing, however it is only free for 30 days. See the below picture.
