why in recent releases of android it changed the bluetooth stack from Bluedroid
to Fluoride
?
Bluedroid
and Fluoride
? if yes what are they? Fluoride Bluetooth stack
With this stack, Bluetooth-enabled devices can locate each other and establish connections. Across such connections, the devices can exchange data and interact with one another through various applications.
The Toshiba stack supports one of the more comprehensive list of Bluetooth profiles including: SPP, DUN, FAX, LAP, OPP, FTP, HID, HDP, HCRP, PAN, BIP, HSP, HFP (including Skype support), A2DP, AVRCP. The latest version of the Toshiba stack is 9.20. 02(T), released on 30 September 2016.
In a nutshell, “BlueDroid” is the Android Bluetooth stack implementation, used by the likes of CSR and other third-parties when they want to take advantage of Android's native Bluetooth support. It replaced the “Blue Z” implementation (Blue Z being a separate Linux Bluetooth protocol stack).
The Gabeldorsche Bluetooth stack is a complete rewrite of Android's Bluetooth stack, and it is enabled by default in Android 13, but only “up to the scanning layer.”
