Does iOS (or iPhone OS) support file operations via SMB network shares? If so, are there any documents about how to do this?
Description. SMB Explorer is a full-featured SMB client for iOS as well as convenient file manager to store, view and manage files and documents. The app includes tools for viewing files on the remote machine and locally. This is a powerful tool to transfer images, books, music and video.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open the Files app. Don't see the blue Files app icon on your Home Screen? Just swipe down, then search for the Files app. In the Files app, search or browse for the file that you want.
Almost every NAS drive supports it too. Your NAS drive already has a number of folders that are accessible from the network. All you have to do is connect to it from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. The Files app on iOS is what you use to connect to the NAS drive.
Don't have tested yet but this might help: http://38leinad.wordpress.com/2011/03/23/windows-filesharing-library-for-ios/
