Wikimedia projects use free and open copyright licenses which means that anyone may share the information for any purpose. Commercial organizations which take without giving back may face criticism or social pressure.
Wikipedia is not a reliable source for citations elsewhere on Wikipedia. As a user-generated source, it can be edited by anyone at any time, and any information it contains at a particular time could be vandalism, a work in progress, or simply incorrect.
The online encyclopedia Wikipedia is often referred to as an "open-source" project because it is written, edited and policed by a global group of volunteers.

The Wikipedia license is actually one of the easier to read, although it needs to be read in conjunction with the Terms of Use (which defines the Attribution conditions among others).
In short, you can share and alter the content as long as you attribute it correctly (typically by hyperlinking back to Wikipedia), and you use the same license for any alterations you make.
