When I'm profiling I can see some data with ms (for milliseconds) but I also see μs. What does μs mean in JProfiler?
The lowercase Greek letter µ (pronounced mu) generally represents the prefix multiplier 0.000001, i.e., 10-6 or one millionth. For example, 0.000001 farad or 10-6 F of electrical capacitance is commonly written as 1 µF. Similarly, 0.000000001 or 10 -9 farad is written as 0.001 µF.
The symbol 'μ' represents the population mean. The symbol 'Σ Xi' represents the sum of all scores present in the population (say, in this case) X1 X2 X3 and so on.
A microsecond (us or Greek letter mu plus s) is one millionth (10 -6 ) of a second. For comparison, a millisecond (ms or msec) is one thousandth of a second and is commonly used in measuring the time to read to or write from a hard disk or a CD-ROM player or to measure packet travel time on the Internet.
μ Μ mu. Symbol for “micro” (1×10-6) (lower). Also the symbol for “reduced mass” – see below.
It means microseconds, which is 1/1000th of a millisecond (1000 μs = 1 ms). The Greek letter mu (μ) is the SI prefix for micro-.
