Does anyone know the user-agent string of the just released iPad2?
The workaround esteban26 suggested works, but it's not ideal if it's enabled by default, It would be great if Apple considers adding the iPad word, or any other identifier to the user agent string. Agree this should be disabled by default.
What does all of that mean?! Each bit of your user agent indicates something particular about your system. There's no "standard" way of writing a user agent string, so different web browsers use different formats (some are wildly different), and many web browsers cram loads of information into their user agents.
From iOS 13 the iPad's user agent has changed to Mac OS, for example: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/13.0 Safari/605.1.15
You can changeuseragent string of your browser and enjoy the iPad interface right inside it. Right-click on the chrome shortcut and select Properties. Open sites like Gmail, Twitter, YouTube that have released their iPad versions.
This is my most recent user agent record from my ipad 2:
Mozilla/5.0(iPad; U; CPU OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F191 Safari/6533.18.5
