It is a text-based way of representing JavaScript object literals, arrays, and scalar data. JSON is relatively easy to read and write, while also easy for software to parse and generate. It is often used for serializing structured data and exchanging it over a network, typically between a server and web applications.
What is a JSON file used for? This type of file provides a human-readable format for storing and manipulating data when developers build software. It was initially designed based on Javascript object notation but has since grown in popularity, so many different languages are compatible with JSON data.
The json. dumps() method allows us to convert a python object into an equivalent JSON object. Or in other words to send the data from python to json. The json. dump() method allows us to convert a python object into an equivalent JSON object and store the result into a JSON file at the working directory.

JSON is a text format that is completely language independent but uses conventions that are familiar to programmers of the C-family of languages, including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python, and many others. These properties make JSON an ideal data-interchange language.

An object is an unordered set of name/value pairs. An object begins with { (left brace) and ends with } (right brace). Each name is followed by : (colon) and the name/value pairs are separated by , (comma).
