One of my logs is returning the following message:

I believe com.google.android.gm represents my gmail account but not sure. Need more insights.

Google Mobile Services (GMS) is a collection of Google applications and APIs that help support functionality across devices. These apps work together seamlessly to ensure your device provides a great user experience right out of the box.
This includes the Play Store, Google Search (and Google Assistant), Google Maps, Gmail, Chrome, and YouTube, among others. Even if you don't use any of these apps, you probably still benefit from GMS in many other ways.
Yes that is indeed the Gmail android app. Any links clicked via the Gmail app have this as the traffic source.
