Repeat: What do iOS developers call the visual dots on the bottom of a page that indicate the number of open windows in an application?
If you're an iPhone user, you may have noticed that an orange dot and a green dot now occasionally appear in the top corner of the screen. These dots are called indicator lights, and they alert users to when an app uses their camera or microphone.
It's just the proximity sensors. I know it's kinda annoying, but they only flash occasionally and it's not easy to see unless you're in darkness or doing something to trigger them.
🟢 Spotted a green dot next to an app? 👉 The dot shows that the app was updated recently. Simply open it for the first time to remove the dot. Avoid it by turning off apps auto-updates.
If you see the dot, it means an app is accessing your iPhone's phone or camera.
This is a page control, or as the iOS HIG calls it a page indicator.
