MY WAMP server has broken down.
http://localhost
shows a blank page. any help please?

It says that whatever port is used by Apache (Wamp server) is currently used by some other service, so if you want to start the Apache service then you have to changethe port of this Wampserver service. Now for changing the port you have to go to Wampserver menu => Apache. Open httpd. conf file.
simple solution is : go to mysql folder then open data folder and backup your ibdata1 file. after backup delete the ibdata1 file and restart you apache server. now phpmyadmin will start working.
Re: how to reinstall wamp? - Check that the installation folder no longer exists, otherwise delete it completely. - In the service manager, check that there are no more services whose names begin with wamp.... Now you can launch Wampserver through its shortcut.
As you are able to access it from the local computer that run the server by http://localhost you have two options to access it from your local area network LAN: Using the local IP of the computer for example: http://192.168.1.20. Using the computer name for example: http://computer1/
I had to use system recover at the end and the problem was at the skype, i tried to uncheck the "use port 80" box under skypes options but the only way to do it properly is to recover ur pc at an earlier date.
Mind you becareful and make a copy of your data first
