I've installed Bootstrap via the Microsoft CDN like:
<head> ... <link href="//ajax.aspnetcdn.com/ajax/bootstrap/3.1.1/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link href="//ajax.aspnetcdn.com/ajax/bootstrap/3.1.1/css/bootstrap-theme.min.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </head> and
<body> ... <script src="//ajax.aspnetcdn.com/ajax/bootstrap/3.1.1/bootstrap.min.js"></script> </body> Everything is working fine with Bootstrap, however, Visual Studio isn't giving me any kind of intellisense for the classes.
For example, typing
<div class="(intellisense should open here) nothing comes up.
Is there any way to get intellisense from the CDN?

Below are the two options to bring back "24/7 IntelliSense" functionality or customize it to your own liking. First make sure you have installed the HTML CSS Support Extension mentioned by dwonisch above. Control + ',' to go to settings or click File -> Preferences -> Settings. Show activity on this post.
To access this options page, choose Tools > Options, and then choose Text Editor > C# > IntelliSense.
Visual Studio not only supports Bootstrap, but it can also generate your views using Bootstrap.
Troubleshooting# If you find IntelliSense has stopped working, the language service may not be running. Try restarting VS Code and this should solve the issue. If you are still missing IntelliSense features after installing a language extension, open an issue in the repository of the language extension.
If you are working with ASP.NET Core project do as follows. VS only reference files inside the wwwroot folder. You need to open the .csproj file and add the following code segment.
<ItemGroup> <None Include="node_modules/**" /> </ItemGroup> After that VS will picking up intellicen from node_modules.

You can add CDN references to intelliSence for javascript, however, css is not supported.
You can add the file to your project and it will work, you dont need to add a ref to html, just to project and it should resolve your issue.
