I work with a wide variety of technologies and tools. Lately I've had a lot of fun with Node, and I love the low-friction startup and expressiveness of Javascript. Wait, scratch that, now I work with Java 8 and Spring and Cassandra, deployed with Chef ... wait, never mind all that, that's so 2015. Now I write Vert.x microservices using RxJava, custom expression languages processed with ANTLR to query federated Elasticsearch, Postgres, and Cassandra datastores, built with Maven on Jenkins running in Kubernetes clusters and deploy Helm Charts, Docker Images, and Nexus artifacts to varied environments from local to on-prem to in the cloud.

I'm interested in Domain Driven Design, Continuous Integration, architecture, usability, design, team dynamics, peopleware and coffee. I think code is craft as much as science.

I like design patterns and I like ignoring them, too. I like Lean and I like Waterfall, and sometimes I like to just throw some code at the wall and see if it sticks.
