I am a marine ecologist specifically interested in problems and research in conservation. I study marine megafauna conservation, particularly marine mammals and seabirds. My work pulls together large-scale data of many types to assess conservation threats and provide the analyses to address them. I work mostly in R and ArcGIS and wish to build my R, Python and Arcpy skills. I believe that the future of science and effective and efficient conservation lies in big data and increasing technological observation. The biggest challenges we face are global, so it will take large-scale approaches to address them.
