I am a self-taught software engineer. I am very good at what I do and I very much enjoy it.
I am currently employed by The Paciello Group (TPG), a Vispero™ company. I have been with Vispero since it was a much smaller company called Henter-Joyce. Henter-Joyce became part of Freedom Scientific Inc. in 2000 and then became part of VFO in 2015. VFO changed its name to Vispero in 2018.
During my years working for Vispero, I have had the pleasure of working on products that truly make a difference in people's lives.
Vispero develops a number of assistive technology products for those who are blind, have low vision, or have learning disabilities. I have worked on several of the products developed by Vispero including JAWS®, JAWS Inspect, Fusion, MAGic®, OpenBook®, and the PAC Mate. Most recently I have worked on JAWS.
My primary programming language is C++ but I have done some programming in C#, Java, Python, and TCL. Most of the software I have worked on runs only under Microsoft Windows but I have done some programming for FreeBSD, GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Solaris.
I have published several open source projects on my SnKOpen SVN repository. One of these projects, the YekNeb C++ Code snippets library compiles and runs under Microsoft Windows, FreeBSD, GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Solaris.
