I'm working on a website where a 'Tweet This' type button is essential (as is a facebook 'like').
About a week ago Twitter launched their own official Tweet button. I'm curious to hear anyone's experiences with using it, particularly in comparison to TweetMeme and John Resig's ReTweet script.
I'm interested in any performance issues, any general tips or things not to do when implementing a Tweet button.
To post a tweet, select the New Tweet button near the top of the screen. The tweet box will appear.
Twitter's Head of Social announced on October 5, 2022 that videos, images, and GIFs can all be shared in the same Tweet. Additionally, swiping on a video in your Twitter feed will display more related content, reminiscent of TikTok.
Twitter is internally testing an edit feature that will allow users to modify tweets for up to 30 minutes after publication, the social media company announced in a tweet. if you see an edited Tweet it's because we're testing the edit button.
The key has been to look for a little pencil icon on tweets in your feed or in tweets themselves. If you want to see an edit history, click on a tweet and then on the pencil. Tweets can be edited up to five times and only 30 minutes after someone has posted the tweet.
I would prefer the official Tweet button, since Twitter has control over it and updates would be automatic.
