Is there any TextMate alternative for Linux?
Something like e-TextEditor for Windows
A Linux system supports multiple text editors. There are two types of text editors in Linux, which are given below: Command-line text editors such as Vi, nano, pico, and more. GUI text editors such as gedit (for Gnome), Kwrite, and more.
Textmate is still the best Mac native text editor for programming. It's fast, stable, and gets out of your way. The newer CotEditor is a nice swift based implementation, but still lacks the extensibility that TM has.
Sublime Text may be downloaded and evaluated for free, however a license must be purchased for continued use.
Check out sublime: http://www.sublimetext.com/. It's not quite textmate but it has some pretty awesome features.
