Since most of the people having to change from Office 2003 to 2007 in their office are confused, it amuses me if there is an objective reason for abandoning the good old interface of previous Offices.
It would also be nice to have some backing facts when people ask about rationale of change. For example I would be interested in:
In the redesign of Office 2007, Microsoft's stated goals were: To make the more powerful features more easily accessible by the novice and regular user, rather than only by "power users". Microsoft describes this as making Office 2007 more "results oriented".
Office 2007 ships with dozens of functional, stylish document templates for each of the applications in the suite. This number increases into the hundreds when you also include those that are available through the integration with Office Online.
If you have Word 2003 and 2007 installed on the same machine, recent updates might have caused a condition in which 07 it runs the configuration dialog every time you open a document. A quick workaround is: Open regedit. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Options.
Enable new Office UI on Windows 11Open Word (or any Office app). Click on File. Click on Account. Under the “Product information” section, click the “Office Updates” menu and select the Update Now option.
