I am trying to print a pandas DataFrame.
One of the columns is too wide (it is a very long string).
To print I am using tabulate library. But when it is printed it shows the whole content of all columns in one very long line. Here is what I see:

as you can see the line is too long. How can I limit the number of characters in the printed string? For example I would like that line 3 to be printed as something like this:

I want this limitation to be applied to all lines in the table.

The default number of the max number of columns is 20. If we don't change it and having a data frame with more than 20 columns, we won't be able to view the columns in the middle again.
The long answer is the size limit for pandas DataFrames is 100 gigabytes (GB) of memory instead of a set number of cells.
Using set_option(), we can change the default number of rows to be displayed. import pandas as pd pd.
A function set_option() is provided by pandas to display all rows of the data frame. display. max_rows represents the maximum number of rows that pandas will display while displaying a data frame. The default value of max_rows is 10.
There's max_colwidth and (terminal) width:
In [11]: pd.options.display.width = 50
In [12]: pd.options.display.max_colwidth = 50
In [13]: df
Out[13]:
