I am using Azure DevOps from Microsoft and try to build a pipeline. When I run it than the following error shows up (note that I am using Nodejs):

To solve the Missing script: "build" error, make sure to add a build command to the scripts object in your package. json file and open your shell or IDE in the root directory of your project before running the npm run build command.
You could add replace token task in the first step of the pipeline. In other words, run replace token task before executing npm task(npm run build). This task is used to assign a value to the version field. In this case, it should work.
It means in your “package.json” (in the folder in which you run “npm run build”), there’s NO “build” script
