I only have SQL Server 2008 Client tools. I would like to use Spy++, but of course, it only comes with the Visual Studio installation.
Is there a good replacement for Spy++ that I can use?

Start Spy++ from Visual StudioOn the Tools menu, select Spy++. Because Spy++ runs independently, after you start it you can close Visual Studio. When you log messages with Spy++, it may cause the operating system to perform more slowly.

Spy++ (SPYXX.EXE) is a Win32-based utility that gives you a graphical view of the system's processes, threads, windows, and window messages.

It's free contains source and works well.
