I'm developing in Android (not sure if that matters) on a sustaining project at work. I have a very large project with too many files in each folder. Every time I click on an opened file's tab in the source code editor, Eclipse automatically opens the folder where the file is located. How can I turn this off?
Expand all all in project explorer is Shift + Numpad * (multiplty), as mentioned before. Collapse all in project explorer is Ctrl + Shift + Numpad - (subtract).
To view the project explorer, click on Window menu then, click on Show View and select Project Explorer. There is simpler way to open project explorer, when you are in the editor press alt + shift + w and select project explorer.
You could try holding down Ctrl + F7 to see a list of all views, then up/down arrow to the View. If Package Explorer is in the list it has been minimised or something. If you select it and still can't see it, try Window → Reset Perspective... to restore all views to their defaults.
To delete a project, right-click on the project in the Package Explorer. Again, select “Delete” from the context menu. To delete your project select the option “Also delete contents under…” and select “Yes.”
I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but in the sidebar (package explorer) there is a button at the top that is 2 yellow arrows pointing towards each other. You should click this to stop the editor auto syncing the explorer. It is a persisting button click so you click once to enable the feature and again to disable it.
