Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Metaspace
OutOfMemoryError: Metaspace error is thrown. To mitigate the issue, you can increase the size of the Metaspace by adding the -XX:MaxMetaspaceSize flag to startup parameters of your Java application. For example, to set the Metaspace region size to 128M, you would add the following parameter: -XX:MaxMetaspaceSize=128m .
OutOfMemoryError: Metaspace indicates that the amount of native memory allocated for Java class metadata is exausted. Let's how this issue can be solved in standalone applications and cloud applications.
Cause: The detail message Java heap space indicates object could not be allocated in the Java heap. This error does not necessarily imply a memory leak. The problem can be as simple as a configuration issue, where the specified heap size (or the default size, if it is not specified) is insufficient for the application.
First kill the Java(TM) Platform SE binary process and then delete the whole /Users//.gradle/caches folder which will allow Gradle commands to work once again.
