Most of you probably know the text-to-speech synthesizer of google translate, as you can access programmatically here btw:

My impression was it's sometimes using espeak, but in the major languages, the quality is much better than that. Anybody knows what Google is using, or what voices they are using? Clearly it's not the normal and also not the mbrola espeak voices.
Add a TTS voice to your PCUnder Personalize Narrator's voice, select Add more voices. This will take you to the Speech settings page. Under Manage voices, select Add voices. Select the language you would like to install voices for and select Add.
Google has 10 voices available for English speakers. There are six female and four male voices to choose from. The male voices are Orange, Green, Blue, and Pink. The female voices are Red, Amber, Cyan, Purple, British Racing Green, and Sydney Harbour Blue.
On an Android phone, tap Settings (the Gear icon) and then tap Accessibility > Select to Speak. Tap the Select to Speak toggle switch to turn on the feature. Select OK to confirm permissions. Open any app, and then tap Select to Speak > Play to hear the phone read the text aloud.
Speech Services is a screen reader application developed by Google for its Android operating system. It powers applications to read aloud (speak) the text on the screen with support for many languages.
