On Firefox, it's allowing to select and no cursor blinks and that's the default behaviour.

The blinking text cursor often appears when we are typing or marking in text in editor mode. However, Google Chrome offers an option to enable the blinking text in normal view. The option is part of the accessibility feature for navigating within the text.
Continuous Blinking Cursor indicates problems with the mouse, its driver, video problem, or Antivirus software. This constant blinking issue makes everyday operations quite tricky. Some other common reasons for Blinking Cursor are mentioned below: Corrupted or out-of-date mouse or keyboard drivers.
You may have switched on caret browsing. You can press F7 (Mac: fn + F7) to toggle caret browsing on/off.
An easy solution is to press the F7 key on the Chrome browser.
