I'm facing a weird problem.
If a webpage includes jquery graphs or libraries the page loads with a full black screen. I can see the source code and the mouse pointer finds the buttons or links. I uninstalled and reinstall chrome with the latest version but still no chance.
Why has Google made the change? OLED screens are becoming more and more popular, both on phones and laptops. The true black background makes colours pop more, and makes text appear clearer. Google seems to be testing a new color scheme for its dark mode search results.
The main culprits of black desktop screen Windows 10 problems are a malfunctioning screen, a bad video card or a bad connection. Other causes include a corrupted system file, which manifests with a blinking prompt and a blank screen, a faulty display adapter, or your computer just crashed due to a motherboard failure.
Same thing just happened to me on Google Chrome v22.0.1221.1 (Nvidia GPU). The workaround was to disable GPU compositing on all pages (setting available on chrome://flags/
)
If it happens in Chrome version > 45.x, See answer https://stackoverflow.com/a/32955808/293023 by @detale.
Use google-chrome -disable-gpu
from the command line to temporary disable gpu.
