Get Android API level of phone currently running my application [duplicate]

People also ask

How do I know my Android API level?

If you are on at least API version 4 (Android 1.6 Donut), the current suggested way of getting the API level would be to check the value of android. os. Build. VERSION.

What is API 31 in Android?

Audio focus. Starting with Android 12 (API level 31), when an app requests audio focus while another app has the focus and is playing, the system fades out the playing app. See Audio focus in Android 12 and higher for more details.

What is API 19 in Android?

Android api level 19 means the android os version (kitkat). It contains the standard android packages(from Android Open Source Projects). But the google api 19 is the android api 19+ google api's like google settings and other packages provided by google.

How do I change the API level of an app?

Step 1: Open your project in Android mode then go to Gradle Scripts > build. gradle(Module: app) as shown in the following image. Step 2: Refer to the below image and here you have to change the minSdkVersion and targetSdkVersion as per the requirement.

Check android.os.Build.VERSION, which is a static class that holds various pieces of information about the Android OS a system is running.

If you care about all versions possible (back to original Android version), as in minSdkVersion is set to anything less than 4, then you will have to use android.os.Build.VERSION.SDK, which is a String that can be converted to the integer of the release.

If you are on at least API version 4 (Android 1.6 Donut), the current suggested way of getting the API level would be to check the value of android.os.Build.VERSION.SDK_INT, which is an integer.

In either case, the integer you get maps to an enum value from all those defined in android.os.Build.VERSION_CODES:

SDK_INT value Build.VERSION_CODES Human Version Name
1 BASE Android 1.0 (no codename)
