I have a chm file that I can open at home. I use windows XP at home and at work. However, when I open the file at work it doesn't show the contents of the file. It properly shows the TOC for the file though. Any ideas pls?
How to open a CHM file. In Windows, you can open a CHM file by double-clicking it. When you do, the CHM file will appear within Microsoft HTML Help Executable. If your CHM file contains an eBook, you can open it in Calibre (multiplatform) or another eReader that supports the CHM format.
The FAR software allows you to view the contents of a CHW file. Choose Authoring → Help File Explorer... from the application menu and then select your CHW file.
To open a CHM file on Window 11/10, you just need to double-click on the file and then select the Microsoft HTML Help executable program to open it up. HTML Help executable program is provided by Microsoft to open CHM files on Windows PC. You can also use the Calibre software to open and view CHM files.
First, make sure you've saved CHM file locally to your computer, simply downloading the file from the browser and clicking open from dialog box will give you the errors mentioned above. 1.. Right click on the CHM file you've saved earlier, select “Properties” on the General tab and click “Unblock” button.
Try to right-click on your chm file and select properties. You will see an "Unblock" button. Click on it, it should solve your problem.
