I've had some trouble finding information about Apple's policies regarding in-app ads. I'm interested in developing a free iOS app with the intention of making money off of it using advertising. However, I don't want to use iAds or any of the other ad providing services. Instead, I'd like to manage and deliver ads on my own.
Does anybody know if Apple has any policies regarding this? I'm assuming that I can do it, since otherwise Google and other companies wouldn't be allowed to provide their own ad-providing networks. However, would I need to give Apple a percentage of the revenue, or would I be able to keep that money for myself?
Best, and thanks in advance for any replies,
Sami
How much money do apps make per ad? The amount of money apps make per ad depend on both the genre of the app and the ad unit. For rewarded video ads, the average revenue per impression in the US is $0.02. The average revenue per completion is $0.16 for interstitials and $2.50 for offerwall.
You control how Apple delivers advertising. Ads delivered by Apple may appear in the App Store, Apple News, and Stocks. These ads don't access data from any other apps. In the App Store and Apple News, your search and download history may be used to serve you relevant search ads.
Paid apps. The most straightforward way to monetize iOS apps is just to make users pay for downloading a complete version of the program. This normally frees the buyer from paywall options and ads, so the developers only get the money they ask.
Apparently you can.
