We are switching over to SVN+Jira+VS2008 for our .NET development. Are there any plugins for Visual Studio that allow to work with Jira directly from the IDE? It would be great if it could be integrated with SVN support (we use AnkhSVN for now), although it's probably too much to ask. Google did not yield much, only some mailing lists which were mostly about other topics.
JIRA Software is a web-based agile project management solution. It offers great support for integrating with various development tools. If you don't want to use the web interface for managing issues then you can use the plugins and connect to JIRA via development tool.
What can Jira Plugins do? Jira plugins are software that users can install to improve Jira's functionality. They are usually referred to as either “apps” or “add-ons” by Atlassian. There are over 3000 unique plugins and almost 1000 suppliers on the Atlassian Marketplace.
A JIRA admin user has the ability to install any such free JIRA plugins as they wish. You can access available plugins or add-ons through your access to the Atlassian Marketplace which is accessible via your admin console.
There are three plans available now, they are: JIRA software plan. JIRA software with documentation plan through Confluence. JIRA software with a helpdesk support plan through Jira Service Desk.
Atlassian has published a free connector for Visual Studio. It's available from the plugin exchange website : https://plugins.atlassian.com/plugin/details/19493
The JIRA-VSTD integration already exists; I just found it yesterday.
Check this out. It's a commercial product by ALM Works.
