Is there any way to support AirPlay with AVPlayer
? I know it can be done with MPMoviePlayerController
, but I see no indication of AVPlayer support in the documentation.
Thanks!
To recap briefly: AirPlay and Apple TV OS are limited to 24bit/48kHz, macOS doesn't offer automatic sample rate switching, Android resamples all audio to 48kHz and Google Chromecast doesn't do gapless playback.
Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror the screen of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Use AirPlay to stream or share content from your Apple devices to your Apple TV, AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV, or Mac.
Just as we listen to music on our phones through a Bluetooth speaker, AirPlay simply connects to your smart TV to display the media you want to show.
AirPlay and AirTunes work over a local network, through either Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Originally, devices had to be connected to the same network, but since late 2017 devices can opt to use Wi-Fi Direct allowing devices to connect without a LAN.
It's not possible in iOS4, but will be in iOS5.

And specifically, set allowsAirPlayVideo to YES
