I've been googling all over the place and haven't found this. The retail client I'm working for using the NRFretail calendar. NRF site Calendars I'm wondering if anyone has ever created a lookup/dimension table with these values.
Thanks,
The 4-5-4 calendar is a guide for retailers that ensures sales comparability between years by dividing the year into months based on a 4 weeks – 5 weeks – 4 weeks format. The layout of the calendar lines up holidays and ensures the same number of Saturdays and Sundays in comparable months.
The 4-5-4 retail calendar for 2022 starts on Sunday 30th of January 2022 and ends on Saturday 28th of January 2023. This year will have 52 weeks (364 days).
The 53-week year Dividing the retail calendar into 52 weeks of seven days each, or 364 days, leaves an extra day each year to be accounted for. As a result, every five to six years a week is added to the fiscal calendar.
4–4–5 accounting is a method of managing accounting periods. Accounting cycles, or calendars, define the number of weeks in each financial period in each financial quarter. The 4-4-5 accounting calendar divides a year into four quarters of 13 weeks, each grouped into two 4-week "months" and one 5-week "month".
You can find a perl module that can generate a Retail 4-5-4 calendar for any year on CPAN: http://metacpan.org/pod/DateTime::Fiscal::Retail454
It was written specifically for this problem.
