After intalling Xampp on my Mac. The address is http://192.168.64.2/dashboard how can I make it to be accessible via localhost or 127.0.0.1 ?
This is because in Mac OS X there is already Apache pre-installed. So what you can do is to change the listening port of one of the Apaches, either the Apache that you installed with XAMPP or the pre-installed one. To change the listening port for XAMPP's Apache, go to /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/etc and edit httpd.
To access the server from itself, use http://localhost/ or http://127.0.0.1/ . To access the server from a separate computer on the same network, use http://192.168.X.X where X.X is your server's local IP address.
Resolve Apache port conflicts by changing your listening port to 8080. Include the listening port in the address when accessing localhost. Change your MySQL port to 3307 if another application is blocking the default port 3306.
You most likely installed the application that sets up a virtual machine. Revisit the download page and select the application without 'vm' at the end

Like Ab Ned said, you've probably installed the VM version. I guess that's a good thing because it might save your from unwanted side-effects. So, if you want to stick with it, just activate the port forwarding:
