Wordpress is putting this at the end of my permalink on the live site... %E2%80%8E anyone know why? Thanks guys?!
The Cause. Every post, page, and media file in WordPress has a unique permalink. When you create a new post, page or media file with the same name as a previously existing item, WordPress will add a -2 to the end of the permalink (URL). It prevents duplication.
%E2%80%8B is the code for a "ZERO-WIDTH SPACE" character. It has probably been inserted without you noticing it somehow, you probably can't see it in your code, but it is here. I recommend completely removing the string (including the surrounding quotes!) where the URL is defined and re-write it.
A UTF-8 byte sequence "E2-80-A8" (U+2028, LINE SEPARATOR), a perfectly valid character in a Unicode database. However, that sequence represents a line-separator (Yes, other then "0A").
Are you trying to remove /wordpress/ from your website’s URL? Sometimes beginners end up installing WordPress in a subdirectory, which causes /wordpress/ to appear in their website URL. If you accidentally installed WordPress in a subdirectory and want to move it to the root directory, then you’re in the right place.
If you have a WordPress Website, the way to log into the back-end is pretty much the same across the board for you to be able to get access to change or add to your website. Go to the home page for your website. In the top browser bar where you see your domain name, type in wp-admin and then hit enter.
The back-end is the workhorse and can be likened to the back room of your store or back office. It is that area where you do all your work and don’t necessarily want to make it public. In this post, we will explore how to find and bookmark the login link for your WordPress website.
Most often this subdirectory is named wordpress. This happens primarily because users end up uploading the wordpress folder they find inside the official WordPress.org download. Let’s take a look at how to easily fix this and get rid of /wordpress/ from your site’s URL.
If you copy post title from MS Word or WordPad or similar editor. This char is like end of line.
