Since this problem is reoccurring in my workflow and the solution is hard to find:
When pasting pictures into a MS Word document, sometimes it disappears behind the text, at least when working in the Print Layout. Sometimes also the text disappears and only part of the image is visible.

What to Know. Insert and select the image. Then, go to the Picture Format or Format tab > Remove Background.
Step 1: Open your Microsoft Office Word > "Word Options" in Word 2007. (Click "File" > "Options" in Word 2016/2013/2010.) Step 2: Click "Advanced" on the left pane, uncheck "Show picture placeholders" under Show document content. Then you should be able to see your hidden images or pictures in Word document again.
Click File, and then click Options. Click Advanced. Under Show document content, click to select the Show drawings and text boxes on screen check box. Click OK.

If you cannot reach the image, Select the Home tab, then from the far right of the menu / ribbon, select 'Select' and select 'Select Objects'. Now, you may click on the image even if it is behind text and select it without any difficulties. Alt Gr + V or Home tab on ribbon, collapse Paste menu and Paste Special...
What you need to do is, keep the image as the default "Inline with Text", Next GO TO Home Tab, and under the Paragraph Section, Choose the Line Spacing Option and under the dropdown, Select 1.0. This will make the Image reappear just below the text, just the way you need it!
