It didn't have a project and I removed myself as the assignee, now I can't find it anywhere. I can only sort by project or assignee. Anyone know where it is hiding?
There is a default CF for Projects that will show which project ever task belongs to. You can use that to see all the tasks and which projects. In Portfolio, you can hover to see the number of tasks in the project.
You can find them via advanced search. You can then also save the search results. They are “Not Me” and “Nobody”. You can start typing them and select the suggestion.
Search in Asana is as simple as typing into the search bar in the top bar. You'll get a list of corresponding tasks, projects, and messages that match your search term. Search is great when you're trying to quickly find something in Asana.
I don't work for Asana, but I found that you can search by assigned to "Nobody" which helps me find lost tasks.
(I work at Asana)
When a task is not assigned to anyone, is not in a project, and does not have a tag, you can still find it by searching for it by name in your workspace.
