I'm wanting to learn about the API and add-on capability of the Mac version of Office, 2011. I cannot find any documentation on MSDN - it must be hidden well. Can someone point me at it please? Thank you.
If Office came with a box or card, look on the card or packaging. This is a one-time PIN. If you have not used it, go to https://www.microsoft.com/mac/getkey and enter your PIN to get your product key. If you used the PIN, your product key may have been stored on your account page.
Although you'll still be able to use Office for Mac 2011, you might want to upgrade to a newer version of Office so you can stay up to date with all the latest features, patches, and security updates.
Rest assured that all your Office 2011 apps will continue to function—they won't disappear from your Mac, nor will you lose any data. But here's what the end of support means for you: You'll no longer receive Office for Mac 2011 software updates from Microsoft Update. You'll no longer receive security updates.
0): You can download this update for free from the Microsoft Web Site. Note To verify that you have installed this update, you can open any Microsoft Office 2011 application to check the version number. For example, open Word, and then on the Word menu, click About Word.
You can find the the Mac Office 2011 VBA reference docs at http://mac2.microsoft.com/vb/1033/default.aspx?src=office.
In almost all cases, the PC version of Office 2010 VBA references are concurrent with the Mac Office 2011 versions, but you can locate the Object Model Changes from Microsoft - Product - 2010 on each product under the Visual Basic Help page and you'll see what may have been added, removed or changed. For example, here is the Object Model Changes from Microsoft Word 2010.
