Description. The raw Bayer formats are used by image sensors before much if any processing is performed on the image. The formats contain green, red and blue components, with alternating lines of red and green, and blue and green pixels in different orders.
Head to the Microsoft Store and search for “Raw Images Extension,” or go directly to the Raw Image Extension page. Click “Get” to install it. Now click “Install” to install the extension. After the extension downloads and installs, close the Store and navigate to the folder with your RAW images.
To view a raw file, you will need editing software. Top choices include Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. If you are looking to edit raw images from your smartphone, use Adobe Photoshop Express. Available on iOS and Android, Adobe Photoshop Express will let you view and edit the image whenever you want.
You can open RAW files with various image-editing and -viewing applications. Some options include Adobe Photoshop (Windows and macOS), Adobe Photoshop Elements (Windows and macOS), Corel PaintShop Pro (Windows), ACD Systems ACDSee (Windows), and RawTherapee (multiplatform).
You can find a set of ready-made images here. It includes only 1 "de facto standard" image however (the lighthouse), since there is no official benchmark.
A common way to test demosaicking is to have an RGB image and to generate the Bayer-sampled image by yourself. It simply sums up to separating the color channels and applying per-channel masks. The main advantage of this approach is that you get a ground truth RGB image that you can use to assess the quality of your results.
