I installed Mountain Lion and then I tried to run and then got this error:
The virtual machine cannot enter Unity mode because:
- The guest operating system does not have VMware Tools installed.
- The guest operating system's resolution cannot be changed.
Then I try to update tools:
Could not find component on update server.
Contact VMware Support or your system administrator.
From the Apple menu, go to Virtual Machine > Install VMware Tools. Click Install when prompted. The VMware Tools volume mounts and opens automatically. Double-click Install VMware Tools.
It's not possible to install it on Mac OS X. You can install Windows on the Mac though, but that kind of defeats the purpose. VMware Fusion has similar (or the same) guest OS support, including the Linuxes.
You can create a macOS Monterey virtual machine using VMware that works exactly the same as VirtualBox. And, just as with VirtualBox, VMware also requires patching before the macOS Monterey virtual machine will work. This part of the tutorial works for Intel and AMD systems.
You can download VMWare Tools and graphic driver from here:
