Via the AppleDoc project I have managed to generate a DocSet for my IOS 4.0 project.
However, when I click on the newly created docset in explorer, all I'm shown is a window with four books, beside which is the name of the project, the size of the documentation set and when it was last modified.
I can't figure out a way to browse the documentation. It must be simple, but I could not find any documentation to tell me how.
At first I thought it might be an error in building the doc and searched out some of Apple's DocSets that shipped with XCode (for comparison). They do the same. So how do I view and read a DocSet? I've tried opening with XCode, still no joy.
What am I missing about DocSets and is there a simple, no nonsense guide available online?

The settings are four icons and the top of your Finder window. to open the view options window. Make sure you check the top two checkboxes that say Always open in list view and Browse in list view. Keep in mind it will reflect whichever view you've selected. Now click the button at the bottom that says "Use as Defaults".
This will display a list of accounts or user groups on your Mac, with access levels shown under the “Privilege” category. If the account or user group you want to set permissions for isn’t listed, select the Plus (+) icon at the bottom of the window.
ACEs can be read and set both on the server and client using the command-line tools ls and chmod. In addition to the standard UNIX file permissions, macOS supports several BSD file flags provided by the chflags API and the related chflags command. These flags override the UNIX permissions. Do not back up the file when using the UNIX dump command.
On your Mac, click the Finder icon in the Dock to open a Finder window. Select the folder you want to change, then click a View button: Icon, List, Column, or Gallery. Choose View > Show View Options, then set the options you want. Have the folder always open in this view: Select the “Always open in” checkbox.
